Navigating Thailand’s Economic Trends: Opportunities for Business Growth
Organizers: FTCC, MLR Legal (Thailand), and CPAC
Venue:
- Seminar at Auditorium, 3rd Floor , Alliance Française
- Networking Cocktail at Bonjour Bonsoir Restaurant
Date: Thursday 20 November 2025
Objective
The purpose of this seminar is to provide an insightful presentation on the Thai political system and offer FTCC members a clearer understanding of the current political landscape. By improving awareness of Thailand’s political dynamics, participants will gain valuable foresight on when major projects in various sectors are likely to be launched, thereby enhancing their ability to anticipate and seize business opportunities in the country.
In light of the current political context, it is also essential for FTCC members to better understand the upcoming major economic laws and the policies Thailand intends to implement in order to attract foreign investment. This knowledge will enable participants to align their strategies with Thailand’s future economic direction
Context
In light of the US tariffs currently imposed on Thailand, the broader macroeconomic slowdown, the relatively limited adoption of large-scale investment projects, and the continuing decline in tourism revenues, Thailand is facing important structural challenges. Added to this is the context of the “China plus one” strategy, where competition for foreign direct investment is particularly fierce with Vietnam and other Southeast Asian nations that are aggressively positioning themselves as alternative manufacturing and logistics hubs. Against this backdrop, it would be valuable to understand how Thailand envisions its economic trajectory over the next five to ten years. What are the government’s priorities in terms of industrial policy, infrastructure development, and fiscal or regulatory reforms? How does Thailand intend to strengthen its competitiveness, attract sustainable foreign investment, and differentiate itself from its regional peers? And finally, what concrete milestones and policy measures are expected to ensure that this vision is effectively implemented?
