Today marks World Refill Day — an important moment to amplify refill as a high-impact solution for a more circular economy. Refill is not simply about reducing environmental footprint; it is about creating sustainable consumption pathways for consumers.

 That is why, on this day, we are proud to celebrate the growing momentum of L'Oréal Groupe's #JoinTheRefillMovement campaign.

 OUR BIGGEST EVER CALL TO 'JOIN THE REFILL MOVEMENT'

In 2026, we are reaffirming L'Oréal Groupe's commitment to sustainable beauty by adding new products to our refill portfolio. Our objectives are clear: to demonstrate that L'Oréal's engagement to sustainable beauty is not a moment, but a movement; and to cement #JoinTheRefillMovement as a recognisable and culturally resonant call to action. Our 18 brands are participating in this global movement.

In Thailand, we are bringing sustainable beauty directly to our consumers with over 50 products across 1 brands. Today, our brands are uniting to rally everyone behind a shared mission: making refillable beauty an easy, accessible, and exciting choice for all.

  • Luxe Division: Five of our prestige brands - Lancôme, Kiehl’s, YSL, Giorgio Armani and Aesop - are leading the way in sustainable luxury across skincare and fragrances. Key highlights include skincare icons like Lancôme Advanced Génifique and Absolue The Soft Cream, alongside signature fragrances like YSL Libre and Lancôme Idôle.
  • Professional Products Division: Elevating professional hair care, Kérastase and L'Oréal Professionnel offer high-performance, refillable solutions for both shampoos and nourishing hair oils.
  • Dermatological Beauty Division:CeraVe, La Roche-Posay, and Vichy are bringing dermatologist-backed, refillable options to advanced skincare and specialized scalp care.
  • Consumer Products Division: Making accessible beauty more sustainable, makeup is also part of the solution with refillable cushion foundations from L’Oréal Paris, Maybelline New York, and 3CE.

 

REFILL MATTERS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT.

Refill reduces environmental impact by addressing packaging at its source. By using lighter formats and significantly fewer materials, we can substantially lower the volume of packaging that enters the waste stream and the carbon footprint associated with it.

The material savings are tangible and measurable:

  • Yves Saint Laurent:
    • When you buy one 100ml Libre EDP refill instead of two 50ml bottles, you help save: -100% metal, -59% plastic, -58% glass, -100% metal, and -42% cardboard. You can reuse the premium glass bottle indefinitely.
  • Lancôme:
    • When you buy one Absolue The Soft Cream 60ml refill instead of repurchasing a brand-new jar, you help save: -100% glass, 95% metal, -42% plastic, and -36% cardboard. You can reuse the golden glass outer jar indefinitely.
  • Kérastase:
    • When you choose the refill gesture with Kérastase Elixir Ultime refill, you help save -95% recycled plastic refill (except the pump, the label and colorant additives) and -30% recycled glass.
  • CeraVe:
    • When you buy one 16oz refill CeraVe Moisturising lotion compared to purchasing a new bottles, you help to save -77% plastic. 

Refill also delivers crucial downstream benefits. Less packaging waste means reduced pressure on collection, sorting, and recycling infrastructure — a direct contribution to the environment.
