GASTON AND ERAWAN BAKERY PRESENT GALETTE DES ROIS: A SYMPHONY OF FLAVOUR AND FORTUNE

BANGKOK, THAILAND (8 January 2024) – Extend your New Year revelry with culinary excellence at Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok

Delight in exquisite French pastries, relish royal decadence, and have a taste of sophistication with the beloved French dessert classic, ‘Galette des Rois’, at our most-loved GASTON and Erawan Bakery.

In the olden days, the Galette des Rois, or commonly known as ‘King Cake’, was traditionally prepared for the Feast of Epiphany, honouring the Three Wise Men of Bethlehem. Today, it is embraced as a cherished element during holiday gatherings across France. Showcasing the timeless harmony of flavour and texture that has been revered for centuries, Pastry Chef David Inglada meticulously sources and utilises the finest, top-quality ingredients to artfully craft the exquisite Galette des Rois. Available until 31 January 2024 at both GASTON and Erawan Bakery, the Galette des Rois boasts layers of delicate puff pastry enfolding a luscious ‘frangipane’ almond filling. The irresistible, sumptuous richness of butter flavour ensures a flaky and delicate texture, while simultaneously delivering a touch of sweetness to your palate, offering your taste buds a delightful combination of sweet and nutty flavours. Moreover, the excitement continues. The beauty and charm of the tradition lie in the anticipation of discovering who will be the lucky one to uncover ‘la fève’. Hidden in each galette is a piece of la fève, a tiny hidden porcelain charm whose finder is believed to be blessed with good luck and prosperity for the New Year and throughout. Aside from the fun, Galette des Rois also serves the perfect occasion to gather friends and family around the table for a delightful beginning to the year.
