Construction & Industry Committee | Site Visit to The Forestias, Bangkok
On 21 October, members of the FTCC Industry and Construction Committees visited The Forestias (MQDC - Magnolia Quality Development Corporation
) to learn how shared energy systems can help improve energy efficiency in urban developments.
The visit started at The Forestias Experience and Model Room, followed by a technical tour of the Central Utility Plant (CUP) to explore its district cooling system.
đź’ˇ Khun Anupon Kugsonsin, COO of Unisius Green Energy Limited, explained how centralised cooling and thermal energy storage help optimise energy use, reduce peak electricity demand and provide reliable cooling across the development.
One highlight was the chilled-water thermal energy storage tank, introduced during the visit as potentially the largest of its kind in Thailand !
It was a great opportunity for our members to see the system in practice, ask questions and exchange views on its engineering and daily operations.
