EABC’s Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals Working Group advocate to the government for on-going improvement in the healthcare sector in Thailand and sees an opportunity to further strengthen dialogue and partnership with the government to achieve this agenda.

COVID-19 affects not only the significant change in health system but the significant changes in social behavior related to health and well-ness. While the case numbers of COVID-19 have been stabilized in Thailand, it does not signal a return to the “normalcy” of our pre-COVID-19 lives. The beginning of a new normal for all of us may need us to consider a step-wise approach based on thorough risk assessments to allow us to earn our living and keep our health system functioning.  There is thus an opportunity for a new health system.

Digitalization would play several roles to improve healthcare access, and quality and efficiency in the healthcare system. Digital Health; including telemedicine and telepharmacy, is one of the key enabling factors to help improving individuals’ health and wellness sustainably and efficiently, especially in an increasingly aging society for the new normalcy.

EABC would like to explore on:

  • How digital health including telemedicine, telepharmacy and Big data could play the role to improve patient access to treatment and care and pave the way for sustainable health system and pandemic readiness? And what is the current development in Thailand?
  • What opportunities does digital health; telemedicine, telepharmacy and big data present for health systems and its challenges?
  • What are laws and regulations that enable and support technology adoption related to digital health; telemedicine, telepharmacy?

Seminar will include topics:

  • Big data & its uses in public health sector
  • Telemedicine development in Thailand, Present and Future
  • Telepharmacy development in Thailand, Present and Future from Regulator Perspective
  • Unified National Health Data Platform - Its Opportunities and Challenges
