Pullman Bangkok King Power is delighted to celebrate a very unique and special occasion – the 50thanniversary of the 3 Michelin stars awarded to celebrated culinary artisan Paul Bocuse’s famed restaurant L’Auberge du Pont de Collonges in Lyon, France, from Wednesday 9th – Saturday 12th March 2016 at Wine Pub, from 18.00 – 23.00 hrs.


After the resounding success of his last visit Paul’s Master Chef Gilles Reinhardt will once again be visiting Wine Pub and enchanting diners with a delightful menu of outstanding culinary creations inspired by the man who stands alone among the world’s top chefs in maintaining 50 years of continued excellence in the field of fine dining as recognized by the prestigious 3 Michelin stars.


Chef Gilles was born in 1975 in Mulhouse, France and grew up in the small town of Alsace. At the age of 5, he received an apron as a present from his mother which inspired him to become a chef. After honing his skills over the years in 2000 he received a phone call from Paul Bocuse, the Master from Collonges and the Pope of French Gastronomy, offering him a job in his restaurant. From that moment his career took off and he entered many international culinary competitions always finishing on the podium.


Chef Gilles was awarded the famous title of MOF or “Meilleurs Ouvriers de France” in 2004 by the then French President Jacques Chirac. It is the most prestigious award for a chef and members of the public are able to distinguish a MOF holder by the red, white and blue collar on their chef’s jacket, representing the French Tricolore. This award is one of the highest achievements a chef can earn, as it is an honor bestowed for life.

Since 1965 L’Auberge Du Pont de Collonges has never lost a third Michelin star which is all the more remarkable when taking into consideration that the Michelin inspectors visit on an annual basis and even the smallest drop in quality can be grounds for removing a coveted star.  Hence this year L’Auberge Du Pont de Collonges is celebrating their 50th consecutive year of upholding this remarkable achievement which is matched by no other restaurant in the world.
