UN Women to Hold the National 2021 Thailand WEPs Awards
UN Women to Hold the National 2021 Thailand WEPs Awards
European Union supported WeEmpowerAsia Programme in Thailand champions businesses aligning with the Women’s Empowerment Principles.
As representation of women in business has risen over the past few years, businesses both big and small have recognized the need and importance of gender responsive practices. In Thailand, more companies are adopting principles that promote gender equality and inclusivity, from having more women in leadership positions to revamping human resource systems and initiating expansive awareness programs towards women’s empowerment.
To honour Asia-Pacific private businesses that champion gender equality in the workplace, marketplace and community in Thailand, UN Women will hold the national UN Women 2021 Thailand WEPs Awards on October 21, 2021, 14:00-16:00 (GMT+7). The WEPs Awards is an annual event by WeEmpowerAsia, a programme funded by and in partnership with the European Union, which seeks to enhance gender-inclusive business cultures and promote women’s economic empowerment in Asia-Pacific and Europe.
As government and businesses work together to push for greater gender inclusivity in the business sector, UN Women is recognizing companies in Thailand who serve as outstanding examples in promoting and practicing gender equality through the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs). They are proof that “gender equality means good business.”
