The Essilor World Sight Day 2017

World Sight Day (WSD) is an annual event organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) to draw international attention on visual impairment issues. This year WSD will fall on Thursday 12 October 2017. It is the most important advocacy and communication event on the eye health calender.

Essilor on World Sight Day since 2014, Essilor has encouraged employees and consumers alike to strive for better vision. In line with the Essilor Group Mission "Improving lives by improving sight" and our position as a leader in the vision care industry, WSD is a key moment to raise awareness and alert people to the critical need for vision screening and appropriate eye care.

Each year more and more Essilor Group employees and entities promote World Sight Day combining efforts everywhere in the world to spread the message of good vision. In 2016, 53 countries and 89 entities were involved and close to 60,000 vision tests were conducted

This year, we aim as creating awareness about the importance of regular Vision checks through a new campaign called #PutVisionFirst. More info on their Facebook Page!
