Core elements of the upgraded Medici Kitchen & Bar include a revamped menu created by the new executive chef Giuliano Berta, as well as an entertainment programme that features live opera and other music performances.
For Chef Berta at Medici Kitchen & Bar, serving traditional Italian cuisine in an intimate dining atmosphere has always been his motto in his culinary career. Influenced by his mother’s cooking, the Italy-born chef Berta combines innovative contemporary techniques and the freshest ingredients to create an unforgettable dining experience at Medici Kitchen & Bar. Chef Berta’s artfully prepared menu is best enjoyed at a limited seat-only chef’s table, which puts the diners right in front of the show kitchen.
As Medici Kitchen & Bar is named after the famous and influential Medici family of Tuscany, Chef Berta brings traditional Italian recipes to the fore. Chef Berta culls fresh and imported ingredients meticulously, featuring only the best Italian creations. The new menu boasts a number of family-style sharable dishes, homemade pasta, modern interpretations of classic dishes and seasonal specialities from Italy. To name a few: spaghetti di mare with seafood, lasagne casarecce layered with Australian beef cheek ragout, béchamel sauce and pizza tartufata with Mascarpone cheese, Taleggio cheese, mozzarella cheese, porcini mushrooms, and black truffle.
Medici Kitchen & Bar is itself an inviting space with an open kitchen and an enticing lounge area. The latter serves up handcrafted cocktails, a range of bar snacks and aperitivo-style concoctions, as well as a fine selection of Italian wines. Food connoisseurs can enjoy authentic Italian fare with premium wine in a warm, friendly setting. After dinner, diners are invited to taste classic cocktail creations such as a barrel-aged negroni and a gin and tonic with house-made bitters. At Medici Kitchen & Bar, the mixologists carefully curate meticulously prepares and beautifully present Italian tipples with great attention to detail. Every cocktail is crafted with quality ingredients, including fresh produce, house-made cordials, tinctures, bitters and syrups. For instance, the ice is either hand-cut or monogrammed.
