Introduction:
Preventing food waste is one of the most effective solutions to fight climate change (Project Drawdown 2020), but general awareness about it close to nil. We want to maximize 8 years of expertise to share unique insights and equip participants with a much clearer picture about why is food waste an issue, why is happening, what are some of the existing solutions and how can anyone start tackle it now.

Target Group:
Anyone curious to get a grip on a widely overlook issue with dire social, environmental and financial consequences: food waste. 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand food waste as a systemic issue linked to our linear and globalized economical model
  • Identify the main food waste generation points along the supply chain
  • Understand the fundamental of Circular Economy
  • What can I do as a consumer on a daily basis
  • Know the Zero Food Waste to Landfill principles
  • Learn to prioritize the most effectives Solutions based on the Pyramid of hierarchy (US-EPA), and potentially identify market gaps

Main Content:
Two sessions of 90 minutes:

  • Session 1: The Big Picture 
    • Connecting Food and Sustainability
    • The 1.6 billion tons crisis: overview of the global state of waste and the urge to take action.
    • Why Food Waste really is an Issue: the social, financial and environmental impacts, and the situation in Thailand
    • Food Loss and waste along the supply chain, circular economy and its principle applied to this issue
  • Session 2: Connecting the Dots
    • You don’t manage what don’t measure: data, metrics and new performance analytics around food waste
    • Striving for Zero: Innovative solutions, technologies and business models available to tackle FW and fully divert it from the landfill.
    • At home: tips and tricks to start adopting a “food waste-less” lifestyle
    • Experience sharing: becoming a food waste entrepreneur

Specificities, Strengths:
Participants get access to dozen of resources (studies, papers, articles, videos, tools..)

Cost:

  • For members: 6,000 THB per person
